Student learning and development occurs both in and out of the classroom during a student’s college or university experience. As Student Affairs continues to evolve, recording and formally recognizing student learning is becoming increasingly important to campuses. Join representatives from Campus Labs and our campus partners at Purdue University and Fort Hays State University to learn about two techniques for tracking co-curricular experiences using Campus Labs tools: compiling a cohesive co-curricular transcript and developing an outside the classroom “curriculum”.
Vincent Bowhay is the Assistant Director of the Memorial Union overseeing the Center for Student Involvement at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Vincent holds an M.A. in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State and a B.A. in English Literature from Washburn University. In his current role he oversees the day-to-day operations in the Center for Student Involvement, the on-campus performing arts series, a major lecture series, and the use of Collegiatelink at FHSU.
Kelley Stier earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications and a Master of Arts in Human Services Administration from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. She has worked in higher education since 2007 with experience at public and private universities in student activities and organizations, graduate business student services, residential life, student leadership and service, and fraternity and sorority life. She is currently serving as the Coordinator for Co-Curricular Experiences at Purdue University with primary focus on developing the Co-Curricular Transcript Initiative. In addition to this role, Kelley also serves on the NASPA IV-E Student Leadership Programs Knowledge Community Leadership Team as well as the Purdue Leadership Engagement Experience Advisor y Board in addition to several additional university-wide committees.
Kelley has a passion for facilitation and is a StrengthsFinder Educator as well as Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) certified. She uses these credentials within her role at Purdue University to assist groups and individuals with their leadership development.
