00:00 - 00:36: Hi, and welcome to a brief introduction to Engage for Campus Partners. As higher education professionals, we all know a student’s co-curricular involvement in college has the power to transform their lives after graduation. We at Campus Labs want to be your partners in achieving that impact for your students. Our platform, Campus Labs Engage, is specifically designed to help your students get connected on campus and provide you as administrators key data to make informed decisions about your programs. Today, I want to give you an overview of Engage, and show you how the platform might benefit your office or department.

00:36 - 1:17: Engage primarily serves three distinct groups of users: students looking to get involved, student leaders or involved students, and administrators. Engage provides students opportunities to get involved through organizations and events. Students can use Engage to search through a campus-wide listing of organizations and events. In Engage, your department can have its own public-facing organization page where you can share out information with students. You can also list your department’s events on Engage, allowing students to RSVP and save events to their personal calendars. When you use Engage, you help uninvolved students connect to meaningful opportunities.

1:17 - 1:35: Student leaders are able to manage their organization’s rosters, events, forms, and other processes in Engage. Involved students also utilize Engage to track the positions they hold within organizations and showcase these valuable co-curricular experiences on the co-curricular transcript.

1:35 - 2:15: Finally, as administrators, you can use Engage to collect and utilize data to answer important questions you might be asking. Are you curious about what demographics of individuals your department is serving, or maybe what types of programs are more likely to attract upper class students? You’ll also be able to access reports and exported data that will help you answer these questions and share the story of what you’re accomplishing on campus. Whether you're working with greek life, residence life, club sports, service learning, career services, diversity and inclusion initiatives, or any other office on campus, Engage can help you achieve your goals and streamline your administrative processes.

2:15 - 3:06: If you’ve never seen your campus’s Engage community, here are some images to get you familiar with Engage at a glance. The homepage of Engage provides a search bar where students can search for organization pages, events, or news articles. Signing in to the community takes you to a page more tailored to your experience, including quick links to the organizations you belong to. The event listing provides information such as date, time, location, description, and a photo for all events taking place across campus. From this listing, students can easily sort and categorize to find events hosted by your office. Engage also offers a mobile application that allows users to find events and organizations directly from their mobile devices. Using Engage ensures students have more connection points to your department’s opportunities.

3:06 - 3:37: In Engage, your department or office can also have its own organization page. The organization page is your opportunity to create an accessible, online presence and to share content with students or other staff. First, you can complete an informational section to help incoming and current students get connected to your office. Profile contact information, links to your other social media, and photos to showcase your department. A contact button allows students to easily get in touch with your primary staff.

3:37 - 4:32: The Roster section of the page allows you to highlight your staff, student workers, and student leaders, along with their email addresses if desired. This allows easy points of contact between your team and visitors of your page. Utilize tools like News and Documents to ensure relevant content is being shared with students and your staff. News posts can be configured to automatically be shared campus-wide, and document visibility allows you to make certain files public, while keeping others internal for your team. The Events tool helps students find ways to connect with your office through workshops, seminars, or any other events you might be hosting. These events can also be configured to show on the community-wide calendar, and on the mobile app. Finally, create detailed and custom forms to streamline some of your administrative processes, such as sign-ups, request forms, or end of the year reports.

4:32 - 5:05: Another feature highly valued by administrators in Engage is the ability to manage your event attendance and observe involvement patterns. Based on your campus’s subscription, you can use manual attendance tracking, card-swipe, or the mobile check in app to keep accurate records on your event attendance. For each individual event, you can easily view a dashboard showing your attendance, including excused and absent users. You can manually add attendance, leave notes about individual students, and export the attendance record.

5:05 - 5:44: Using attendance tracking, along with other data collected in the system, such as memberships and positions, class years, demographics, and other enrollment data, you can explore the questions that matter most to your department. We’ve listed a few examples of questions real departments are using Engage to answer. Engage allows you to answer questions such as, “How many students attended more than one of our programs last year?” or “What demographic of student was most likely to stay involved after their first year?” Your primary campus administrators can help you pull reports to answer important questions and gain valuable insights for your office.

5:44 - 6:06: Lastly, based on your campus’s subscription to Engage, your office can take advantage of other features already being utilized, including Service Hour Tracking, Co-Curricular Paths, and mobile attendance tracking with the Event Check-in App. We encourage you to talk to your primary Engage administrator on campus to learn about these additional features.

6:06 - 7:07: As a summary, Engage allows you to collect data for your division or department, apply it strategically, and access valuable reports that will help you share your story. When you use Engage, you further support the students on your campus by contributing to a one-stop-shop for engagement. Engage will also help you promote the visibility of your department, allowing you to share up-to-date news, forms, photos, staff contact info and more in one location. Finally, take advantage of various features that are already being used by other departments on campus, such as Co-Curricular Paths or the Event Check-in Mobile Application. We hope this introduction to Engage has been helpful, and that you’re excited about what Engage might do for your department or office. If you have any questions, please chat with the primary Engage administrators for your campus, or reach out to your campus consultant to talk about your next steps for expansion.
