On the new Engage platform, you’ll be provided a number of settings that allow you to customize your community and build a brand. Take a look at the following branding components to learn more.
Engage will offer several branding options for the primary heading of the public and non- administrative areas of the application.
The community logo supports a consistent visual anchor across the site to help you connect the community to your campus branding efforts. Full Access administrators will be able to upload a logo to the community once the Engage transition has been fully released. The community logo will sit atop a white (#ffffff) background and will accept file types that support transparency.
Image size: 750px x 150px - The image will be scaled based on viewing display; larger images are better on high resolution devices.
Preferred file type: .SVG
Acceptable file types: .PNG with transparency or .JPG with a white background (#ffffff)
A vanity URL helps promote campus ownership of the community and keeps users on the institution’s domain. Previously only available at specific license levels in CollegiateLink, vanity URLs are now standard in Engage. Vanity URLs require configuration by campus IT staff. An administrative page that describes the process of adding a vanity URL to the community will be visible to Full Access administrators in Engage.
If your campus would like to add a vanity URL, it’s a great time to think about what you’d like it to be. Generally, vanity URLs follow this format:
Once you’ve picked a vanity URL, share our technical documentation with your IT team so that they’ll be fully prepared to configure the setup once Engage is released to your campus.
Your current CollegiateLink accent color will be transitioned to Engage. However, it may be a good time to confirm that your color is in line with your community branding or campus branding standards. Many campuses offer website design standard sites or PDFs that identify the specific colors (in Hex format) for campus web development. Search “branding standards” or “identity guide” on your main campus search engine to find your campus’ version.
Engage will continue to support a cover photo that is used to artfully convey the setting and activities that your institution has to offer. Your current site Cover Photos will transition into Engage, however our design team encourages you to review your current images and consider iconic campus landscapes, events, or moments that exemplify the spirit of engagement and exploration. The Engage cover photo will be displayed in a taller aspect ratio that is more consistent with popular digital cameras, reducing the amount of cropping required.
Minimum image size: 2600px x 1400px
Acceptable file type: .JPG or .PNG (no transparency)
Note that a search bar will be placed over the center of the cover photo and that the image will need to scale to many different sized screens. For these reasons, we suggest that you refrain from adding images that contain text or image mosaics.
